From Arka to Alatau - A Musical Greeting

The State Academic Philharmonic named after Erkegali Rakhmadiev of the Astana City Akimat, Kazakh Orchestra, will present a concert entitled «From Arka to Alatau – A Musical Greeting» at the Grand Hall of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic in Almaty.

The concert will mark the 180th anniversary of Abai and the 100th anniversary of Nurgisa Tlendiev, featuring their songs and kuys, along with works by Kazakh folk and contemporary composers.

This evening will feature: People’s Artist, laureate of the State Prize, composer and kuyshi – Seken Turysbek; holder of the «Kurmet» Order, kobyz player – Zhanar Zhusipova; Honoured Cultural Figures – Botagoz Tashimova, Daniyar Mukan; laureates of international competitions – Nurkanat Tapiev (tenor), Aigerim Temirbekova (soprano); Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Kazakh Orchestra, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, recipient of the «Parasat» Order, composer, professor – Aitkali Zhaiymov; Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Nurgisa Tlendiev Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Orchestra «Otyrar Sazy», Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan – Dinzhukhra Tlendieva; conductor, Honoured Cultural Figure, composer – Nurlan Bekenov will perform on stage.
