This production is based on the play Memory by Son Lavrentiy and Lee Stanislav, and is dedicated to a tragic chapter in history - the forced deportation of Koreans from the Russian Far East to the Kazakh SSR in 1937.
Through the lives of several families, the story explores the experiences of Korean settlers during their first years in Kazakhstan, as well as during the Great Patriotic War. Despite the hardships, people hold on to faith, friendship, and love - and most importantly, to hope for a future in which the truth will be passed down to the next generations.
At the heart of the performance is the strength, kindness, and generosity of the Kazakh people, who shared their bread and shelter with the newcomers.
