A wealthy old prince arrives in a provincial town and takes lodging at the house of a noble lady. The lady makes every possible effort to use the «uncle» to secure her daughter’s happiness. Yet to the prince, whose mind has somewhat dimmed with age, everything happening around him seems no more than a dream…
