The Midget Nose

 

The plot of this magical story, which will be very interesting not only for young readers, but also for their parents, takes place in a small German town. Here lived a family of a shoemaker, who had a handsome and clever son named Jacob. «The Midget Nose» is a vivid picture of how a heartless sorceress turned the life of young Jacob into a series of trials. The boy manages to get out of a difficult situation only thanks to his efforts and loyal friendship.

One day the boy was helping his mother, who was selling vegetables at the local market. Near their counter appeared a scary and very unpleasant old woman, who was not happy with everything. After much complaining and bickering on the part of the old woman, Jacob couldn't stand it and dropped a few insulting words in her direction.

The old woman demanded that the boy help her carry the vegetables home, which he did. At home, the old witch fed Jakob a magic soup. he turned into an ugly dwarf with a big nose.

After a series of dangerous adventures with an enchanted girl, they manage to overcome the witchcraft imposed on them, and they are transformed back into two young and beautiful people. Jacob and Mimi marry and live a long and happy life.
