«Carmen Suite» is a unique diamond in the ballet art of the XX century. The story of the life of the freedom-loving, ardent and passionate Carmen is a source of inspiration for many choreographers, and the best ballerinas strive to dance this role.
The choreographic interpretation of Georges Bizet's famous opera Carmen was created especially for the magnificent Maya Plisetskaya. The musical transcription of the opera's themes was written by composer Rodion Shchedrin, who worked on the score with incredible passion. He managed to achieve true virtuosity in conveying through music the subtle psychological nuances of Prosper Mérimée's great opera and short story. And thanks to the vivid and extraordinary choreography by Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso, which brilliantly conveys the feelings and aspirations of the characters, Carmen Suite has become a favourite ballet for many admirers of the art of dance and has become the property of the best theatre stages.
«Triumph»
In the second section, connoisseurs of high art will be presented with the ballet «Triumph» staged by the theatre's leading soloist Ainur Abilgazina to music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. According to the choreographer, this production combines elegance, refinement and sublimity. The brilliant «Triumph» is a moment filled with the beauty of classical ballet, it is a hymn to classical dance.
