The Key on the Pavement, or the Husband at the Door (КАТМК)

An operetta composer escapes from his mistress's angry husband by climbing onto the roof of one of the neighbouring houses and, seeing an open window, climbs through it into a room and ends up in the bedroom. Susan, who has just married Deputy Sheriff Henri Martel.

Susan, after the wedding, is talking to her charming friend Rositta in this bedroom, and the appearance of the young composer is not part of her plans, as night is falling and she must wait for her new spouse.

The friends decide how to get rid of the unexpected guest, and he is not going to be too intrusive at first. He would love to jump out of the window, but the window is on the fourth floor, which keeps the young man in someone else's bedroom.

Besides, he has taken quite a liking to Rositta, a friend of the bride, and is no longer so eager to say goodbye. Terrified at what is happening, Susan locks the bedroom door from her husband so that he will not see her in the company of a strange young man. To make matters worse, the key falls out of the window onto the pavement.
