Lecture by Andrey Aksenov
After censorship was abolished in 1905, the Russian press experienced an explosive growth. For a short time, newspapers and magazines entered a true «golden age.»
- How did the state respond to a free press?
- Was it possible to buy a publication?
- Did «negative blocking» exist back then?
- How could a single article lead to a duel?
These and other questions will be explored in the upcoming lecture by historian Andrey Aksenov: «Media Scandals at the Twilight of the Empire.»
Participation fee: €15 / 1500 RUB / 10,000 KZT.
