Summer of Love (KATMK)
The operetta Summer of Love was written by the popular Hungarian composer Lajos Laity (1900-1966) in 1927. Originally titled «Ancient Summer» (Régi nyár), it brought fame to its author and was subsequently adapted twice for the screen, featuring famous Hungarian artists.
What is this operetta about? A large theater in a European capital, a sold-out hall, an inimitable prima donna on stage, who unexpectedly faints at the climax of the performance. What is the reason? Of course... a man! Noticing her former lover in the audience, who left her 18 years ago to marry a member of high society, the actress decides to take revenge on her abuser. The intrigue unfolds naturally: the heroine's adult daughter and the son of the cunning seducer are in love, unaware that their parents also experienced the joy of mutual feelings and the bitterness of parting. Will the young heroes be happy? Will love be able to put everything in its place? Will the summer full of love return?
