«Revizor.Incognito» The Musical

As part of the XIV DosStar Open Operetta and Musical Festival, The State Musical Comedy (Operetta) Theatre of Uzbekistan (Tashkent) presents the musical «The Government Inspector. Incognito» inspired by the work of N. Gogol.

Why is «The Government Inspector» timelessly relevant? Because human nature doesn't change, and vices remain the same. Gogol sought to highlight the absurdity and humour of the situation. But is it still absurd today? This question will be explored together with the audience by the actors on stage.

The central idea of the comedy is the dream of an ideal life. Every character believes their life should be much better than anyone else's.

Through Gogol’s vibrant characters, sparkling music, and striking performances, the play aims to «heal» the audience - to help them recognize and laugh at their own flaws by reflecting them through Gogol’s heroes.

The performance features Russian folk songs and romances performed by a string quintet from the orchestra.
