ROKSONAKI
“ROKSONAKI” is the first Kazakh world music style band. The Roksonaki, founded in 1990 by Ruslan Kara, the winner of the International Ethno Music Festival «The Voice of Asia» (1991) participated in the Winnipeg, Berlin, Washington, Istanbul, Kanas and Shanghai festivals.
“At one big music festival in Washington, I met your guys from the group “Roksonaki”. Their music is a combination of Kazakh flavor and rock - it’s amazing,” said the world-famous musician Yo-Yo Ma.
The unique sound of their music combines original archaic timbres of ancient Kazakh instruments and individual findings. Authentic Kazakh folk songs, as well as the author's re-creation of the lost archaic genres (such as shamanic ritual chants), and their original songs form the basis of the group's repertoire. Musicians are equally play in the extended band and chamber-acoustic composition. The group released five albums "Til", "Zholga shyk", "Nauyryz", "Tamyr", "Dala"
