«Sacred Dances» at Almaty Theatre

Almaty Theatre presents the ballet triptych «Sacred Dances». Director-choreographer Mukaram Avakhri and the soloists of Astana Ballet turn to the theme of spiritual connection across time. Through dance, the spectators are invited to explore their inner world and search for answers to the questions: who are we and why are we here? An extraordinary musical rhythm, expressive costumes and the artistry of talented performers create an atmosphere that allows the audience to immerse themselves in the sacred world of dance.

The production has been awarded the prestigious prize of the Association of Theatre Critics of Kazakhstan in the category «Best Contemporary Ballet». In addition, choreographer Mukaram Avakhri became a laureate of the international Benois de la Danse award (the «Ballet Oscar») in the category «Best Choreography» specifically for this performance. Fragments of the ballet were presented on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as part of Benois-2025, receiving enthusiastic acclaim from the professional community.
