From June 18 to August 8, 2025, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents the international exhibition “Silk and the Silk Road: From China to Kazakhstan.”

The exhibition is organized based on the scientific research of the China National Silk Museum. It highlights the origins and development of silk art in China and explores the cultural exchange between East and West made possible by the historic Silk Road. A key feature of the exhibition is the contemporary reinterpretation of silk heritage through the works of modern Chinese designers.

This event is held within the framework of the Year of Chinese Tourism in Kazakhstan.

The exhibition consists of three thematic sections:

- “Ancient Silk Patterns of China” – Replicas of traditional motifs from the Warring States Period to the Qing Dynasty.

- “Cultural Exchange through the Great Silk Road” – Artifacts illustrating intercultural connections.

- “Modern Revival and Application” – Works by contemporary designers inspired by traditional silk motifs.

A total of 131 exhibits are on display, including ancient silk fabrics, items made of gold and silver, ceramics, pieces of decorative and applied art, and modern designer creations.
