An evening of Tchaikovsky’s romances will be presented by Honoured Workers of Kazakhstan baritone Azamat Zheltyrguzov and Dolores Umbetaliyeva (piano).
Among the musical genres that Pyotr Tchaikovsky explored, romance had a special place. The composer wrote romances throughout his entire life; they served as a sort of lyrical diary where many motifs later found more developed expression in his major works. The intense feelings of emotional turmoil and dissatisfaction, a passionate thirst for happiness, and the bitterness of unfulfilled dreams form the emotional core of his vocal lyrics.
The sincerity and expressiveness of the musical images, the vividness of the intonations, the intensity of their development, the richness of the piano part, and most importantly, the expression of a complex range of emotions make Tchaikovsky’s romances one of the most popular and beloved parts of the composer’s creative legacy.
An evening of romances performed by renowned artists promises vibrant emotions and inspiration.
