«The Ugly One»

This stage production, inspired by Marius von Mayenburg’s «The Ugly One», tells the story of a man who undergoes plastic surgery to change his unattractive appearance. With a new, handsome face, he gains success, wealth, and social admiration - everything he believed was out of reach due to his looks. However, as he rises to the top, he begins to realise the cost of his transformation. Longing for his former self, he desperately tries to reverse the surgery, only to discover that outward beauty cannot replace inner worth. The play is a poignant reflection on identity, self-worth, and the dangers of losing one’s humanity in pursuit of superficial ideals.
