«The Victory Starry Hour» Exhibition

On May 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Abylkhan Kasteev will open a large-scale exhibition titled «The Star Hour of Victory», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition features works of painting, graphic art, and sculpture that reflect the hardships and heroism experienced by our people, seen through the eyes of artists from different generations. Annual exhibitions dedicated to the Great Patriotic War are a long-standing tradition at the Museum - a sacred memory vital to all generations.

The Kasteev Museum of Arts holds a unique collection of works by Kazakhstani artists on the theme of the Great Patriotic War, with a significant portion now on display. Executed at a high professional level, these artworks are full of life, sincerity, and poetic tragedy, infused with courage and quiet strength. They speak of duty, the looming threat to the homeland, and the triumph of the people over the invader.

An important part of the exhibition is the collection of graphic works by artists such as V. Antoshchenko-Olenev, A. Bakhtygaliyev, R. Velikanova, N. Gaev, A. Drozdov, P. Zaltsman, K. Kametov, A. Kasteev, M. Kisamedinov, and others - many of which are being exhibited for the first time.

Well-known paintings by M. Kalimov, V. Kireev, K. Telzhanov, E. Tolepbai, M. Khitakhunov are harmoniously presented alongside graphic works in various techniques, forming a unified artistic narrative.

The exhibition also includes sculptural compositions by renowned Kazakhstani sculptors Y. Mergenov and S. Sergebayev.

A special highlight of the project is the tapestry «Blessing» by L. Kalimova.

The media section of the exhibition is dedicated to Kazakh heroes who fought on the front lines for the Great Victory - among them, many artists who took part in the war: U. Azhiyev, N. Meirmanov, N. Nasedkin, V. Nesterov, N. Nurmukhammedov, and many others.

The media section includes two parts:

Portrait Chronicle of Kazakh heroes of the Great Patriotic War

Screenings of interviews and documentary films about artist-veterans of the war, allowing viewers to deeply feel and reflect on the events of that distant yet ever-relevant time.
