From November 18 to December 28, 2025, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosts the international exhibition “Hand in Glove”, organized by the Estonian National Museum (ENM).

The exhibition introduces visitors to one of the most recognizable and poetic aspects of Estonian culture — the tradition of knitting mittens, which for centuries have remained not only a necessity of the northern climate, but also a symbol of artistic taste, craftsmanship, and collective memory.

The works presented in the exhibition were created in collaboration with the Viljandi Culture Academy of the University of Tartu, based on authentic items from the collection of the Estonian National Museum. The project aims to preserve and promote traditional crafts, transmit knowledge of ancient techniques, and foster professional excellence.

Сoncessions:

• Only citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who belong to preferential categories are entitled to free or discounted admission to the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Discounts apply only to entrance tickets for temporary and permanent exhibition halls, including the Hall of Ancient Art and Technologies of the Great Steppe (“Gold Halls”), and are granted upon presentation of valid supporting documents.
• For citizens belonging to preferential categories, admission to international (foreign) exhibitions — except for persons with disabilities of groups I–II and their accompanying persons, as well as persons with disabilities of group III — is subject to payment in accordance with the approved price list.
