Jourdain
Our play is based on Mikhail Bulgakov’s adaptation «The Mad Jourdain». This story offers a glimpse into the rehearsal process and the making of a performance in a 17th-century French theatre.
At the heart of the story is a French merchant named Jourdain, who dreams of becoming a nobleman and joining the refined world of the marquises. But no matter how hard he tries, he simply doesn’t fit in. He believes money can buy him everything, but the truth is, this society doesn’t want him, with or without wealth.
This thoughtful comedy reminds us to cherish what we have, to respect ourselves, and to stay true to who we are - instead of pretending to be someone we’re not.
