JOURNEY TO THE WORLD OF NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS
On 27 September 2025 at 12:00, the Chamber Hall of the Y. Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic will host a special cultural event dedicated to Children’s Day. The folk music ensemble «Saryarqa» will present to the capital’s audience an educational lecture-concert entitled «A Journey into the World of National Instruments».
Throughout the programme, the audience will discover the rich history of Kazakh national music and the diversity of folk instruments. The aim of the event is to popularise the traditional musical heritage of the Kazakh people and to inspire the younger generation’s interest in national art.
Highlights of the programme:
• An introduction to the history and unique features of Kazakh folk instruments;
• Insights into the making and sound of instruments such as the qobyz, dombra, syrnai, jetigen, and shankobyz;
• Reflection on the educational value of national musical art and its importance for future generations.
The professional musicians of the ensemble will not only perform traditional melodies but also engage in live dialogue with the audience, sharing the stories and characteristics of each instrument, immersing listeners in the enchanting world of national music.
This lecture-concert is designed to broaden the musical horizons of children and adolescents, nurture respect for cultural heritage, and awaken a deep sense of national spirit.
