The Philharmonic continues to delight its youngest audience.

On 20 September, in the Chamber Hall of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic (29 Abai Avenue), young listeners will be treated to Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonic fairy tale Peter and the Wolf. The performance begins at 12:00.

When composing this piece, Prokofiev sought to open the door of the symphonic world to children and introduce them to the instruments of the orchestra through the engaging form of a fairy tale.

Each character is represented by its own musical theme, played by a particular instrument. The main hero, young Peter, helps the hunters capture the wolf that terrifies all the forest creatures. Each figure comes to life through music: Peter is portrayed by the violins; the grumbling grandfather by the bassoon; the wolf by three French horns; the bird by the flute; the duck by the oboe; and the cat by the clarinet. The hunters are represented by the full orchestra, while their gunshots resound through the timpani and bass drum.

We warmly invite young listeners to step into the enchanting world of music and discover its treasures!
